About the Project
The NSIS Project is an Erasmus+ initiative designed to strengthen the capacity of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal to support research, business, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
NSIS focuses on enhancing the competencies and professional skills of Library and Information Specialist (IS) staff, enabling universities to deliver more relevant, targeted, and high-quality information services to researchers, enterprises, and local innovation ecosystems. By improving digital, transferable, and lifelong learning skills, the project helps align higher education support services with the evolving needs of society and the economy.
At the core of NSIS is the development of a modular, practice-oriented curriculum, designed to modernise information services and strengthen university engagement with business and research communities across the region.
OUR TEAM
The NSIS Project brings together a strong international consortium of Higher Education Institutions and expert organisations from Europe, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, working collaboratively to modernise information specialist training and strengthen links between universities, research, and business.
Through shared expertise, joint curriculum development, and coordinated training activities, NSIS partners contribute to building sustainable skills ecosystems that support innovation, entrepreneurship, and research excellence at regional and national levels.
Each partner plays a key role in curriculum design, piloting, dissemination, and long-term sustainability, ensuring that project outcomes respond directly to local needs while benefiting from international best practices.
